Leslie Jordan is a well-known American actor, writer, and singer, best known for his roles on Will & Grace and American Horror Story. He is also an author, most notably of How Y'all Doing?: Misadventures and Mischief from a Life Well Lived. Born in 1955, Jordan was raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he attended Brainerd High School. Despite his attempts to glamorize his upbringing, Jordan grew up in the middle class suburbs of Chattanooga. His mother never truly understood him, and his father died in a plane crash when he was just eleven years old. Jordan also struggled with his faith, as he was baptized 14 times due to feeling the need to come forward when the preacher asked sinners to come forward. In 1982, Jordan made his way to Los Angeles, where he got into a lot of trouble with the law.
