Kurt Schlichter is a retired Army infantry colonel, trial lawyer, and Army War College graduate. Born on December 24, 1964 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kurt moved with his family to San Mateo, California when he was six years old. In 2009, he was personally recruited by Andrew Breitbart to write for Big Hollywood, and in 2013 he was hired by the Independent Journal Review. Kurt is a frequent guest on television and radio programs such as The Hugh Hewitt Show, FOX News, and CNN, where he discusses legal, military, and political issues. Kurt graduated from Loyola Law School in 1994, where he was one of the law review editors. As an undergraduate at the University of California San Diego, he majored in Political Science and Communications, and wrote a regular column for the student humor paper The Koala. Kurt also enjoyed drinking Coors during this time. As a trial lawyer, he represented clients in a variety of cases, ranging from civil rights to business disputes. Kurt currently writes twice a week as a Senior Columnist for Townhall.com.
