American young adult author Becky Albertalli (born November 17, 1982) is also a former psychologist. Her 2015 novel Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, which was made into the 2018 movie Love, Simon, and which served as the basis for the spin-off television series Love, Victor, is her best-known work. Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, Albertalli's first book, was released in April of that year. Leah on the Offbeat, a follow-up to Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, was published in 2018 and was the recipient of the Goodreads Choice Award for Best Young Adult Novel. In Love, Creekwood, Albertalli published the third book in the series in 2020. The Upside of Unrequited and What If It's Us, which she co-wrote with Adam Silvera, are among her other works.
